Shetland Pilgrimage
About
We are a group of Christians from a variety of denominations in Shetland, remembering our common debt to the Celtic monks from Iona and elsewhere who brought the faith to these islands in the 6th and 7th centuries.
We are making a pilgrimage from the extreme south to the far north of the main island of Shetland in celebration of the 1500th anniversary of the birth of St Columba. In so doing, we hope to experience the peace and solitude which brought these early monks closer to God, and at the same time to raise funds for the children of the Holy Land who are struggling to complete their education.
